First of all....don't leave! Yes, you have reached the right blog. I just did some housecleaning and changed templates. You like? I'm not quite finished yet with my personal touches, but I'm getting there. Anyway, onward with the shenanigans of the day.....
Today's subject is on making changes and how those changes will inevitably create a new life for yourself (good or bad). They can be simple or outright earth-shattering. The ones I made today were simple. K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid -- I sometimes feel I should have that tattooed on my forehead.)
First off, I'm not using artificial sweetener in my tea this morning. Since I found out it may be the culprit to my 'gassy' situation the other day, (Read my post entitled Gas and I Ain't Talking Petroleum) I am now introducing raw sugar from Hawaii to my decaffeinated Chai tea. Along with that, instead of cow's milk, vanilla soy milk is now in the mix (I have to thank my Autistic son for that idea as he grabbed it off the shelf in the store). One packet of the raw sugar is not as sweet as I had hoped-- I used three packets to get the taste where I wanted. However, the vanilla soy milk works out just fine. It's good for me and ingesting things that does my body good isn't something I do on a regular basis.
Let's take a look at my current tea bag...
The tag on it says, "All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsion, habit, reason, passion, and desire." Aristotle.
"All human actions....." Well, I changed how I drink tea in the morning. That deserves analyzing in comparison to Aristotle's philosophical theory. Below are his seven causes and next to them are my thoughts on whether my "actions" of switching over to raw sugar and soy milk coincide with each other.
My Actions ~ Switching to Raw Sugar and Soy Milk
*Chance - It wasn't by chance that I became gassy. My diet was loaded with gas producing foods so this one gets the thumbs down.
*Nature - I thought of a joke to put here, but it was in bad taste. So, I'll just quickly write that this one is a thumbs down.
*Compulsion - Nope. None of that here, so again I mark it as a thumbs down.
Come on, Aristotle! We're running out of causes.....
*Habit - Aaaah, now you're talkin'! If you've read any of my postings you will know that I have the habit of drinking tea in the morning. This one gets a big thumbs up!
*Reason - My reason being.....gas is no fun. Besides, I ran out of antacid. This one is a thumbs up.
*Passion - I am very passionate about herbal teas. I love how each variety along with their different scents and taste can sometimes take my mind away to another place. Dreamily giving this one a thumbs up.
We are three for three with only one more cause left to go.....
*Desire - In my opinion, he saved the best one for last. If we don't desire, we don't dream. Drinking tea helps calm my nerves, alters my mood and frees my mind to dream of a better life and thus create goals to make that happen. That is why this one gets the biggest thumbs up of them all.
Who knew that a tea bag tag could be so profound? Certainly not I. That just goes to show you that drinking tea can do wonders -- for your body and your mind.
**Make sure you don't miss tomorrow's posting as this is a two part series discussing Aristotle's theory**
